Streaming live on Mixify w/S4?
Streaming live on Mixify w/S4? Posted on: 26.07.2012 by Nena Rowsey Hey, I attempted to setup my audio signal on Mixify, but I guess Im confused as to the best way to do this. I understand that Mixify can't just pick up and mirror the master out from Traktor. That would really simplify things. It seems that you have to either A) route the output of the s4 to it's own input and select that as the input to Mixify, or B) route Traktors sound to Soundflower and use that as the input to Mixify. I normally run my main 1/4" outs to my monitor. I tried the first method by using the main rca output (simultaneously w/ the 1/4"s still going to my monitors) going back into the S4 mic input (using an RCA to 1/4" cable) and it barely registered a signal on Mixify. I sent the same RCA out to my MOTU 828 on another computer and got the same weak signal. Is this because I'm not supposed to use the main 1/4" and RCA at the same time? If so, does that mean I have to mix in my cue track only and send my main outs somewhere else to mix live on Mixify? Is there a way to incorporate Soundflower and still use my S4s audio? Any insight is much appreciated! | |

Sheena Quiroa 30.07.2012 | Yeah, you can do the same thing here. Just direct in but you would need to adjust your gain accordingly as the inputs tend to be sensitive. The blog I referenced would only help if you had to use Soundflower with a configuration to support your headphone mix. |
Leeanna Ayla 29.07.2012 | When I had an S4 I found the best way to stream with it on anything other than Nicecast was to go from the main out's to the line in on the computer with a cable. No tricky third party software or anything like that. You just plug it in and select the computers in. |
Sheena Quiroa 29.07.2012 | Hey! Since everyone's setup could vary so much, it's hard to pinpoint the exact setup that will work for you. However, it sounds like you're doing all the right things. Check out our blog for how-to's on direct streaming, it should clear some stuff of for you. You'll notice down at the bottom we made an entry on enabling audio cueing while using an internal broadcaster (Soundflower, ie). http://blog.mixify.com/how-tos/mixif...gh-and-testing Hit us back with an update! |
