Geri Jarra 22.03.2012 | Soooo did anyone ever figure out the issue with the jog wheel stoping playback? My left wheel is fine, but most of the time when I try to scratch with the jog wheel it stops the song and to get it to play again I have to tap the right plate a few times.. It started a few weeks after I got the S4. Its not bad enough to send back, but a little annoying |
Stephnie Godbole 07.07.2011 | I got to try an S4 at GC and had my wallet ready.... APC40 looked purrdier |
Becky Anesi 29.06.2011 | Had a long dialogue with NI explaining that the left jog wheel was not working but after resting for 18 hours or so the wheel would respond with no adjustments to the software preferences. This was an intermittent problem that NI initially put down to calibration, I'd already tried to recalibrate when playing to an audience and the S4 would still not respond. 3 weeks later I videod the defected S4 in action and only when I uploaded the video to Youtube and email a link did they accept that the unit was faulty. Poor returns policy as I had to pay standard shipping back to Germany that they only repay through Paypal who took a good cut on my original fee leaving me having to pay NI for the privilege of fixing a defected unit that they sold me. What makes matters worse is that when I got the S4 back last Friday the problematic left jog wheel was not attached to the base unit, it sloshing about in the box that I'd used to return the S4. All in all, VERY poor customer service. No acceptance of potential product failure and when it was accepted by video evidence I had to pay, find a shipping office and eventually end up out of pocket through no fault of my own. Not good enough NI. Quality product when it works but you need to sort out your returns policy, accept that there's a problem and organise a courier to pick up from a point that is convenient to your customer and not put the onus on the customer. |
Kandy Slutzky 26.06.2011 | my right jog wheel wont scratch or calibrate.... everything about the s4 was perfect since christmas eve when it arrived.... i cut and loop and scratch all the time and now as i mentioned right jog wheel wont scratch and the play button doesnt work... tryed calibrate and it made it to 6oclock and then erorred out.... any suggestons... |
Freddy Kapfer 06.02.2011 | Yeah haha, when I said one sip, that's really what I meant. It wasn't much at all and the majority of it was quickly absorbed by the super quicker picker upper bounty so, the day is saved. Thanks again for your help! |
Leeanna Ayla 06.02.2011 | That's great. I will admit I thought you were screwed. |
Freddy Kapfer 06.02.2011 | Worked like a charm! Thanks so much for all your help. Just touched a little wet bounty on the contacts wiped it off and everything is great. |
Leeanna Ayla 06.02.2011 | yes |
Freddy Kapfer 06.02.2011 | Well it was only a drop or two that got underneath the jog and only a drop or two that got under the platter. Basically it was like 1 sip's worth that spilled and landed on the platter and in a few other places which were easily cleaned up. When you say remove the opposite do you mean just twisting it clockwise while holding it down? |

Renaldo Buzzo 24.01.2011 | Hello Everyone, I am not a hundred percent sure that I post this message in the correct thread. I ordered my Traktor S4 from DJTechTools.com and while it seemed to be working just fine, for some reason I experience a problem with the right jog wheel, even after multiple re-calibrations. The issue I got is affecting the counter-clockwise rotation, I cannot navigate properly in my loaded song nor modify anything with the jog wheel. I'm running Traktor S4 v1.0.1 on Windows 7 x64. Thank you for your help! |

Dallas Casa 30.11.2010 | I also live in Norway and returned my S4 2 weeks ago. Same problem as the others. No amount of recalibration, replacing the jogs, re-installing the software or using the controller editor solved my jog issue. I work on a Mac and have no problem running TSP without any drop outs or other issues. Thank god for pre-ordering.....though.... soon december and no S4 in my house |
Arica Grow 22.11.2010 | I have the same problem as djboe. I just received it today and I live in the Netherlands. I do not want to return it and wait for another damn month..... |
Leeanna Ayla 20.11.2010 | Contact the sore. I'm not sure how they're handling returns. |
Kathline Brous 20.11.2010 | Hi again, I've tried removing the plate and reinstalled Traktor again, but still no success. Same results every time, so it seems like I have to return the unit unfortunately... I live in Norway and I've ordered it from DJ TT, so I believe I have to wait a couple of weeks before I have a new unit to play with. |
Leeanna Ayla 19.11.2010 | Try removing the plate and putting it back on. If that doesn't work I would try reinstalling software fresh. If that doesn't work it sounds like you may have a defective unit. Did you buy it in a retail store or order it? |
Kathline Brous 19.11.2010 | Any tips or hints anybody? Still not able to get my jog wheel calibrated... :-( |
Tracy Speich 19.11.2010 | i went to pick up my s4 today at GC and they hadnt opened up the demo unit yet so the employee did it while i was there. funny thing is, one of the platters was already dangling off straight out of the box. needless to say for a split second i thought about not buying it but once that bad boy was powered up and running, i quickly pulled out my wallet, ready to pay for the one they had in stock. no regrets! |
Leeanna Ayla 17.11.2010 | hahahaha, your funny djkoolman. |

Ezekiel Fournet 17.11.2010 | By the way...my post count should read 25,473,692 but the S4 jogwheel flew off and hit the 'delete DJ Techtools account' button on my pc and i had to start from scratch. |
Kathline Brous 17.11.2010 | Yes, I'm running S4 ver 1.0.1 |

Leeanna Ayla 18.11.2010 | Welcome to the community . That's got to be the worst first post ever!! |
Ezekiel Fournet 18.11.2010 | I had a little play with the S4...not impressed at all for the price. You'd expect something a lot more well made than it looking like it was made by Fisher Price Toys. Jogwheels are awful!! |
Leeanna Ayla 17.11.2010 | Did you upgrade to the 1.0.1 update through the service center? |
Kathline Brous 17.11.2010 | If I touch the jog wheel, the music stops playing but I don't get the proper "scratch" sound and I am not able to scroll within the track. When I touch the jog wheel and try to spin it, the track cursor do not move. It seems like I'm unable to get the tempo indicator for that track to go faster than 15-20 BPM (on the other deck it spins up to 600-700 BPM) same with the pitch indicator, even if i spin the jog wheel it won't get under -80%. The pitch slider for that deck drops all the way as it do on the other deck. |

Kathline Brous 16.11.2010 | Hi, I've tried this but with no success. I've tried to recalibrate my faulty jog wheel both inside the Traktor application and inside the the controller editor. I've restarted my software after each recalibration and I've also tried to restore factory defaults. I'm getting a bit frustrated here, could somebody please help? |
