Vista 64bit soundcard

Hi, I'm in the process of building a new computer system off of the Vista-64bit OS. I've also been tossing around the idea of getting a VCI-100 (Ean Golden edt.) coupled with an external card like the Presonus Firebox; however, I haven't heard enough to convince be that I'd be stable on a 64bit OS. I just spent $165 on a top of the line PCI-e (1st of its kind) in the way of an Asus Xonar D2X. This will reside in my desktop though and I'd obviously need something external for a laptop. But, IF I wanted to could I use a card like the Xonar? I'm using an Audigy 2ZS with my Klipsch 5.1s and Virtual DJ now (using the rears as my headphones and the fronts/center as my mains.

I've really been pulling for the NS7 but it seems to be vaporware at this point, as the VCI-300 looks sharp, but I'm looking for EFFECTS and it doesn't look like Serato Itch has it...
