Livid Ohm

Livid Ohm

Hey guys/gals this is my first post, I've been lurking for a while, but I decided not to post anything until now.

Anybody heard of this little controller here?

Its called the Ohm, and its produced by a company called Livid. As far as I know, they make other sorts of midi controllers. This one caught my attention because it looks like a monome controller, only it has pots and faders (which is what the monome is missing in my opinion). Livid is selling them for just under $800 USD

Anyway, they have a wooden desktop version and a rack-mount version

There are some videos on youtube here: http://youtube.com/results?search_qu...q=0&oq=livid+o

They're mostly just demonstration videos by Livid. I have yet to see any footage of anyone actually using this device. I just thought this was interesting and I figured maybe you all would like it.

I am on the fence about making a diy controller that is a cross between the Ohm, NS7 and the VCI-100. I would call it... Awesome. lol

I really do want to make this hybrid controller though.

It is pretty, but I'd love to see it with three extra knobs/rotaries per fader.

damn that is pretty, but definitely seems more slanted towards VJ style control as asides from the sweet grid the analogue controls are a tad sparse
