what "type" volumeslider vci Posted on: 06.12.2008 by DJ Pablo Does anyone know what type of volume slider is in the VCI,and where to get it? | |

MadMan Ajms 17.02.2009 | Let me know if you upgrade the pitch faders and how they work? I love your blue led work too..Love to try this, but maybe was hard and risky? |

DJ Pablo 16.02.2009 | I added one volumefader in my mod. Here is a link to the manfacturer (Alpha Taiwan) of the Volume sliders in the VCI http://www.taiwanalpha.com/english/p_e_105.htm But you can't get them anywhere. For replacement I can highly recommend this one;PTE60-151B-103B2 from Bourns. It has the same lever as the vestax'.(lever end style 'B') and all specs are similar.(mounting holes etc.) http://nl.mouser.com/Search/ProductD...E60-151B-103B2 |
MadMan Ajms 16.02.2009 | I would really like to change the pitch faders to one's without an indent. Anyone tried this? |
Betsy Cothron 15.12.2008 | thy very much! This does make everything a bit easier |

Betsy Cothron 14.12.2008 | maybe that's the only way to find out about that.. a circuit diagramm would be useful as well well, a false resisitsence could damage the cpu of the device.. huh but isn't there any simple fader, which is a bit longer as the built-in fader and which would fit (not phy. of course!) ? any suggestions? |
Adolf Hit 14.12.2008 | Use a multi-meter, you should really buy one if you are considering any electronics work. |
Betsy Cothron 14.12.2008 | which resistence does the pitchfader and the crossfader have?? where can i get that information? greetings |

But since you are interested in the 'stiffness' of the fader, its possible that the stiffness is a result of the lubricants used in the fader itself. If you open up the fader and strip down the lubricants with a cleaner, you can apply a more appropriate lubricant to the rails of the fader and the PCB. |
DJ Pablo 10.12.2008 | I opened up my vci and took out the volume slider, It seems to be an "Alpha" made in Taiwan. Lenght of the Housing is apr. 87mm. and the lenght that it slides is 72mm. If I replace the slider with a 100mm fader (of course I make more room for it),Do I have then a smoother volume control because the fader has a longer way? |
DJ Pablo 10.12.2008 | thank you Paddy for explaining that to me |
William Kelley 10.12.2008 | VCA faders, in analog mixers for example, have another principle to work than older faders. They do not manipulate the sound directly. In older mixers the sound would go trough the crossfader directly. VCA faders only send 'their position' to an amplifier section of the mixer, which will then affect the volume relation between two or more decks. In the case of the VCI-100, the CPU of the device is the amplifier section, like in the analog mixer, which receives the signal of the crossfader and converts it from an analog signal to midi data. And the line faders work the same way as the crossfader. |
