ESI Maya 44?
ESI Maya 44? Posted on: 20.02.2009 by MadMan Ajms I am reading via Googling nothing but strong reviews for this card and it's price.Things that look appealing are: 4 ms latency / 2 stereo ins / 2 stereo outs (rca) separate amplified headphone (mini ok for me) light and compact, bus powered. -10dBV input / output level (unbalanced) The NI audio 4 has Four 9.7 dBu outputs (RCA).. so Maybe NI Audio is louder? light weight and compact, great for travelling. 100.00 USD Things I do not like: looks kinda amateur..but does it really matter??..Say it was in a different box and nobody knew what I was using.. -plastic case could break over time.. How does it really compare with a NI Audio 4? I do not need the phono preamps or extra stuff the NI A 4dj offers.. I need good, clear sound and loud enough to pump a crowd. Any real dj feedback ?? http://www.esi-audio.com/products/maya44usb/ | |

MadMan Ajms 21.02.2009 | ok..thanks..good enough review.. Hmm..Maybe a Audio 4 or 8 then. I like the Presonus, but do not want to have to plug another thing in or fear of it getting unplugged. |
donavan djarkasi 20.02.2009 | I have that card and while it offers low latency i find myself in need of upgrading. Problem is that the headphone output cannot be used for cueing. It's hardwired as a mix of the two outputs. So you can't choose which channel you would like to listen through the headphone output. So you have to get a adapter from jack-female to rca-male, to get your headphones connected to the interface. And that eats up one stereo output, so actually you have only one stereo output left. It's good enough to bedroom but you might find yourself needing more. It sounds good to my ears but I really haven't had any real comparing done so can't say how it compares to others. My usb cable is a bit broken and now I have to send the whole unit back, since the cable can't be changed without opening the interface. And I don't want to kiss my guarantee byebye. It's a good interface to start with, but i've had it for a year now, vci-100 for nine months and I believe I need a better interface with a proper headphones cue, more professional feel (yeah, it looks like a toybox ), and more/better outputs. |
