| Joesph Vincze 05.03.2009 | I believe you got it wrong slightly. The LED has a positive and negative end. If you run power through the LED the wrong direction it will not work. You must attached a resistor to the positive end of the LED to resist the flow of the electricity down to the proper voltage, otherwise you'll burn out your LED quick. I took a closer look at your thread. You will need to resist the USB 5V to the 2.2V required to light the LED. you want the flow of electricity to run from the controller, to the (+) end of the LED terminal, back out to the ground of the controller. The switch aspect, it doesn't matter what way you wire it, it just closes the circuit. If you still need mor help Pm me and we can exchange IM info and have a nice lil chat. |

Basically on my thread (http://www.djranking s.com/community /showthread.php?t=3549) i have push button LED switches and i'm trying to work out how to connect them up! My controller shouldbe arriving today so i can dismantle it! On your instructables link it says "Solder the positive end that has the resistor attached to one end of the switch. It can be either pole of the switch" My question is: Where in/on the controller that you had was therep laces to put the LEDs. Because you have an LED for each button and i basically want the same thing but i can't see how just by connecting the LED up to the positive end with a resistor will make it work? Or am i wrong and it will just work? can you explain more on exactly how you connected the LED's and made them work plz? Will be a massive help for me mate. Appreciate any info, Thank you |

| Joesph Vincze 30.12.2008 | Yeah, I cheaped out on the buttons. I was trying to keep the whole project under $10. I use this little toy to control beatgrids on-th-fly in Traktor. I also use a BCD3000 as my main controller. |

| Jansen Brown 29.12.2008 | nice, I tried this with an original xbox controller but the contacts for the buttons are covered with carbon or something to that effect. Pretty much meant I couldn't solder onto it because it would just melt. The tracers were too small to solder too. |
