so I have been wanting to make my own diy controller and because my lack of knowledge I though I would start simple...

Serato SL3 box
4 Nano controllers
Belkin 4 port usb hub.

Scene 1 Nanopad is basic performance mode EQ Kills and Transport
Scene 2 Nanopad is scratch mode x/z set up for scracthing and cue jumps
Scene 3 Nanopad is juggle performance mode beatjumps and loops

Scene 1 Kontrol is basic FX mode FX1 and FX2 control Tempo and Volume
Scene 1 Kontrol is basic EQ mode EQ and EQ Kill Tempo and Volume

Nano Key is set as Browser and Deck Load

thanks for the tip - will stay away from balsa. Any other recommendations besides wood?

Don't use balsa wood, it's way to frail. If you want something lightweight use pine.

Yes, I might try balsa wood also believeing about acrylic or PVC but the weight becomes an issue

Sorry didn't know that. Did you consider building a box out of a wood or plastic? It's not that hard, but you must be very precise or you get bed results.

thanks, actually I don't have any trouble with latency. Works quite well.

Using my old SL3 packaging not a pizza box., however that is a good idea.
