the right laptop

ok, hello folks!

some weeks ago, i played the first time in a club and brought my laptop. however, we had to tape the end of the cable because there was a noise coming from the speakers. the reason for this was some kind of electrical isolation? i didn't understand that part heh..

well, i want to buy a new laptop for myself (the other one belongs to my parents).. now i don't want to buy a notebook that also gets such a noise when plugged in.

so, what should i consider when buying a new laptop?

Also if your're buying used, be sure to bring some responsive headphones to test the audio quality while the laptop is plugged into the adapter. Alot of times you won't pick up the noise unless the signal is coming through a high frequency output like studio monitors or the like. Again I really noticed this hum through my KRK Rokit 5 monitors, but when listening thru cheap $30 headphones the noise was absent.

Ya kno, I've had issues with noise from my laptop, but it turned out to just be my ac power adapter was on the fritz while Djing at my friends wedding (horrible humming sound). I replaced this, bought the exact spec aftermarket adapter for my laptop brand new for $50, and the problem was resolved completley. Before considering an expensive purchase make sure you have a quality power adapter, it will make a world of difference.
