VCI 100 jog wheel vs cdj jog wheel
VCI 100 jog wheel vs cdj jog wheel Posted on: 07.10.2009 by Georgene Deatrich Ok, I am a noob here, and prob have a noobish question, I have dj'd for over a decade, vinyl, cd's, Serato, and Ableton, and now Traktorafter running around here and looking through the discussions I decided to pick up a vci 100 from craigslist for cheap, its 1.2 firmware, I dont scratch and I was wondering if I could adjust the jog wheels to be less sensitive and easier to jockey into time, kinda like a pioneer 1200, I adjusted the sensitvity on the vci to max so it wouldnt go into scratch mode, mess with my latency to 10 ms, I guess this is a traktor question too, is there better sync and beatgrid mapping with traktor pro vs le, I will def upgrade, as I love the allen heath filters and 4 band eq like my zone 464, and I will prob do custom mappings too, or just use the tt one with the overlay. So is this something that I need to map the pitch bend button to VCI so I can nudge the track in to place and not worry about the jog wheels, or can I adjust the midi jog wheel values so that they are not so extreme, or is this something that has been taken care of by DJTT and I need to upgrade to firmware 1.3 and use the TSI provided, Sorry to just bust up in here and nag. I promise I will be a member and share my productions, tips, and mappings when I get my head around this, any ableton or pro tools questions feel free to ask | |

Georgene Deatrich 12.11.2009 | its on the wheels themselves, the clear plastic part is the fine movement, if you touch the metal part it makes it search really fast or you could scratch, it to me a sec to figure that out, but once I did, sorted. thanks for everyones help, now if i could just update my firmware...... |
Leighann Khamphoumy 12.11.2009 | How do you do that? i mean have 2 modes, searching mode with fast jog wheels and normal sensitivity jog wheels? |
Hipolito Scionti 09.10.2009 | Just the crossfader curve is on the vci-100 itself. everything else is in traktor. you can defo adjust the sensitivity and acceleration to whatever you like. You can even have two modes. So when I have vinyl light on, the platters are like vinyl and then when off I use it as a search mode to move around the song - mega fast platters. The world is pretty much your oyster once you get your head around mapping And welcome to the site ;-) |
Latoria Kavulich 07.10.2009 | You can set everything to your preference in the software, i dont use the VCI but i'm pretty sure that also has some sensitivity adjustments on that also. |
Georgene Deatrich 07.10.2009 | wow, great community here, and a def relief to know, just one more question, do you set the jog wheel and acceleration on the hardware, or is this a software mapping, I believe it is as you have percentages listed, guess I am going to drop $140 on the upgrade, I remember it was lower about a month ago cheers m8 oh I play house and electro, but do some tricks, I will find a happy medium I am sure thanks |
Latoria Kavulich 07.10.2009 | Cant say about the LE version but the gridding and sync in Pro are really indepth mate. As for wheels you can change the sensitivity to quite low if you don't want to do scratching. Personally i use 1% sensitivity and 5% acceleration, and use the wheels for nudging the track. And welcome BTW! |
