Noob meltdown: soundcard advice
Posted on: 21.01.2010 by Enid Redgrave
Hi guys,

noob meltdown over here, I really need some help.

A little introduction on my problem:
I'm 20 years old right now, and after being a 'DJ' for 4 months when I was 14 (I mean: I played at a party or two using two discmans, my mothers stereo amp and some cheap car speakers)
But now I'm back! Recently I wanted to give it another go and bought myself a second hand VCI arcade via this community , hooked it up to my laptop, got traktor pro aaand fuck: how am I going to get sound out of this thing.

Since I'm totally new to (digital) DJ'ing thing and sort of a broke student, I've been surfing and reading a lot to look for a cheap soundcard, but I can't really seem to find the holy grail.

So this is what I came up with:
http://www.thomann.de/nl/terratec_ph..._fwxtended.htm
http://www.terratec.net/en/products/...Wire_1632.html

Ultra cheap and it seems good to me.
Do you guys have any advice on this?
Would this work fine with Traktor and the VCI?

Thx in advance and sorry for the possibly stupid question!

-damn how do I move this to the general topic?-

audio2dj is indeed a very good choice.

I'd say consider the Audio2DJ as well. Just over $100 and will pack all the punch you need for basic DJing.

Also keep in mind if you don't have a 6-pin firewire (see: a PC) you'll need to carry around the power adaptor.

Consider:

- the thread moved,
- the Audio2DJ
