Fixing a busted LED? VCI-100 project
Posted on: 22.04.2010 by Yahaira Wolensky
Hey guys, I've been lurking here for a few months and I've finally made the move to getting back into digital dj'ing. I mixed with a xponent for about a year until moving to serato + 1200s. Ean has sold me on the arcade VCI-100 with all the awesome videos on youtube. I just picked up a "gently" used VCI-100 on ebay for $300 shipped . The guy says everything works fine, mint cosmetic condition except for the LED on the far right button next the the pitch fadder. I know LED's normally don't just go out, so what's the deal? Can i just desolder and pop in a new LED of same spec and hope it works? I'll also be ordering the firmware, overlays, colored knobs/faders, arcade buttons in May hopefully when they're all back in stock. And my buddy's dad works for an aerospace manufacturing company where they can hopefully do the CNC cuts for free.

So if you hit that monitor button, the LED next to the right pitch fader will also toggle.

Firmware 1.3 fixes that problem.
yeah the LED works fine, it's my 1.2 firmware, when I'm in loop mode, that LED works fine, but other buttons trigger sync and cue, just waiting for my FW upgrade kit to arrive and I should be set.

I had changed all Led's of my VCI-100 SE and there was no problems.

Just disolder and resolder a new one.
