What do you think of my launchpad?

Not finished yet, still gonna build a strip of dials to attach to the top for FX. Was believeing about taking the whole thing apart, spraying black with a white stripe or white with a red stripe. Gonna redo the button decals cos i can see the ones I used falling off after a evening , need something a little more industrial. If anyone knows of any really sticky double sided tape please let me know.

Great idea for an apc40 also.
after i looked at it closer - it almost looks like tracing paper or whatever and the generic images/numbers/symbols printed on them. but not sure how they'd be stuck on there. i'm sure dodge will share his method

Nothing spectacular modifier wise, just sorted out the browsing options and a couple of other minor bits, and you see I have loop in, loop size (- +) and loop active, well I made it so that when I hit loop active with the modifier button it will jump back to what ever previous loop I made on the fly... something I was told was not possible but I knew there had to be a way. So now I can make a loop on the fly, come out of it, then go back to it later on.

I dont really use ableton to DJ, only for production. I know you can use ableton alongside traktor so might start getting into that but wanna get into 4 decks more then anything.

I just used the launchpad for the first time with timecode, had a track playing on one side and was scratching with the other but I already pushed the calibration button so it said "medium not recognised". Put the time code vinyl on and because Traktor hadnt calibrated properly the relative mode light on the launchpad was flashing. SICK!!!! Now if I have a calibration problem I'll notice sooner due the flashing launchpad button.
I've also just set up a load of modifiers for it, this thing is fucking awesome man!

can't you just creat a hot loop and go back to it later. i'm about to switch to traktor (as in today when i'm done work i pick up my audio 4, kontrol x1 and tpro upgrade!!!!!)

but from what i've read and vids i've watched you can create hotcues or loops. in torq you just hit the loop out/reloop button to go back to your loop - but you can't store loops ;(

What do you believe tho... white with a red stripe, or black with a white stripe? I'm talking about the cross that separates the 4 decks visually
black with white glow stripe maybe?

I figured it was with traktor, if i had mine still i would do a similar setup with serato, i might squeeze bomes in between so i could make some more advanced midi settings.

any plans for the other modes of the LP? forgot what's its called, the drum rack part in ableton...

Nah, don't use automap, I just installed the drivers and away I went, haven't even seen any automap page. There's a whole post in the mappings community about this, that's where I got the idea for the layout.

It's pretty durable. Nice tough plastic, pads are made of the same stuff the trigger pads are made of just a bit smaller, wide rubber pads on the base. If it was dropped it will more then likely survive. It's all good.

Ok, I thought there might have been some problems with the device itself. Haven't heard anything of it's durability yet.

Nice looking layout dodge. Can you or do you have to use Automap in Traktor?

i sold it as for some reason i just can't get comfortable in ableton and with the money from that and a couple other non-used music things i was able to pick up a used sl-1 (serato) box.

they are doing some awesome things with it in renoise now too (check create digital music for vid)

I'm mentioning this stuff since you asked, I don't want to take this thread off topic on the merits of the launchpad cause your idea here is cool with the decals on the pads and that's what we should be discussing...

let see a video!
