Kontrol X1 + (insert mixer here) + Traktor LE
Posted on: 04.06.2010 by Latia Balensiefen
Hey, fairly new to this site.
I just picked up a Kontrol X1 that came with Traktor LE. Now I have been using an Ion ICue (HID controller) for the past couple months with Numark Cue LE software which has been working fine.

I understand now that i am not able to use the Ion ICue controller with Traktor LE because traktor does not support it. So now i presume that i need a mixer to go along with my X1, but i don't want to buy a mixer which Traktor will not support. Is there a way to tell which mixers will be compatible with Traktor LE and which won't? Or is anybody using the same sort of setup i am talking about? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have been DJing this way a bunch lately, I'm getting too lazy to haul the DVS setup out to the club. For me no controller feels as good as a real mixer. Alright thanks, checking it out now.

Another question you may know the answer to, if i get the audio2 soundcard, will any basic 2 channel mixer work with Traktor? Or are there specific ones i should be looking for? thanks again

All upgrades are 50% off this month, so now's the time to do it.

haha yeah i've done a lot of reading up lately, and after a couple youtube videos later, i believe i understand the whole mixer concept :P. So i have gone and ordered the soundcard and a basic 2 channel mixer. I believe i'm going to have to upgrade my Traktor LE to Traktor Pro to get the most out of the X1 though, seeing as with just LE the X1 is very limited.

Any basic 2 channel analog mixer will work if you get the audio2dj. (Also, I believe you may be confusing a mixer with a controller). Mixers have nothing to do with Traktor, let alone programs inside a computer. (Unless of course you're using a USB mixer, but forget I said that (unless you'd like to learn more)).
