I'm buying a new midi keyboard soon and i have the choice between an oxygen 8 and an axiom 25 the axiom 25 is a little bit more expensive but has pads and looks like it has a more superior built quality the keyboard below the oxygen 8 http://www.djwarehouse.com.au/studio...-keyboard.html is alot cheaper any info on either of these would be appreciated also were would be the best place to purchase either of these that ships to australia? thankyou in advance

i sold my axiom 25 for the novation sl mk2 49. i see that you had a budget but you should have downloaded automap just to look at it...automap is way way way better than M-Audio's software.

Very versatile tool though, even more so that it comes with automap

I believe
Buy Roland Juno-D + Usb Midi interface
Is Better than AXIOM 100times

If you need to use Keyboard Interface
You must focus on playing with the key not turn the knob or move fader

And yes .... U need to playing live SoftSynth not the way that Piano/Keyboard player Choose

Got an Oxygen 25 recently. The only thing I'm not too pleased with is the trigger action on the keys :
*they don't start sending notes quickly into the press
*sensitivity is mediocre

One thing to be considered with the OXY when deciding between V2 and the 25 (which is really a V3), The V2 uses Enigma for mapping and the 25 has to be programmed on-board (easy to do). But the 25 also adds DirectLink which maps it natively to many popular DAW (and the only keyboard I found that maps into GarageBand) and you get a extra fader!

For mainly DJing, the V2 can be easier to map with Enigma, if Enigma is still supported on your system (try before you buy!). But if it is for production work too, I would go for the 25.

IMO, the axiom is overkill for a 25 key, stick with a simple compact unit.

cheapest i could find an axiom within aus was at dj warehouse for 230 out of aus it was like 180 or 160 on amazon to bad they wouldn't ship it here found the oxygen 8 from a music store in perth for 150 might just flip a coin :P thanks for the help tell me what you decide on once you do

hey mate im pretty much in the same situation you are. im also from aus and was looking at an oxygen 8 or axiom 25....believe guy on inthemix was selling a axiom for like 160 not sure if he still is but yeh. anyways a oxygen 8 v2 is like 140$ from storedj new, but if you look around and have some patience you should be able to get a cheap pick up on a oxygen 8.
