| Marnie Foye 28.06.2010 | I believe you just have to teach yourself to look at the crowd. Use a mirror or a picture of a crowd on the wall for your practice setup at home. Fixes that problem pretty quickly. I also believe it helps to not have to actually touch the laptop. Touching the computer encourages you to crouch down and get in close to the laptop, exactly what we don't want. It's better if you can do it all with your controller while just sorta glancing at the screen from a distance when you need to. |

| Leeanna Ayla 28.06.2010 | I saw a video that Moldover did where he said he placed his laptop sideways next to the gear. that way you can still see it, but the visual footprint is much less. |
| Irving Odabashian 28.06.2010 | I keep my laptop as tucked away as possible, I don't like when DJ's have laptops in front of them or on really high stands, just takes away from the crowd/DJ interaction. I like the way Rusko uses his traktor scratch set up, I've seen videos wheres his laptop is on a shelf below the DJ booth or even on the floor, so when he loads new tracks it looks like he is digging for a record or searching for a CD. I often use traktor purely in search mode so the only time I look at my screen is when I am searching for a new track... If you wanna stop looking at your laptop, try doing that... |
| Leeanna Ayla 27.06.2010 | It's not so much that they're looking at decks or laptops, but that the laptops can be set up blocking the DJ from the crowds view and vice versa. When a DJ was plying CD's or vinyl there's more movement from the DJ so it looks better than a guy standing still browsing a library on a laptop. |

| Dana Ordinario 21.06.2010 | I give it 5 maybe 10 years where we won't have monitors anymore everything will all be Minority Report style and just projections 5 feet in front of us. They are already working on this and have some limited success with a working prototype there just waiting for the other technologies to catch up to get it all working. |

| Danae Dumler 21.06.2010 | Awesome - yeah TradeMark is the bomb; he's put a lot of thought into the showmanship side of controllerism. Besides the massive visual display for Ableton there's another level of crowd interaction with the "wheel of mashups," etc. ECC is doing some great things. I'm not sure how something like this would work with Traktor (or Serato) as the screen itself is less intricate. I believe it's more about what you're doing with the controllers at that level. While part of me would love to have this kind of direct interaction with a large screen, messing around with turntables, mixers, buttons, joysticks, etc. will probably look a lot more dynamic. |

| Suzanna Paddock 22.06.2010 | Yeah, Not crazy about the spacefly look but looking at the laptop screen while djing is the biggest turnoff of controllerism i find. So boring when u see someone onestage looking at their laptop...And having a laptop stand just makes it worse! This is definetly an area in need of inovation |
