VCi-100+Traktor Pro - Hamster style??? / vci-100 scratchin tips

was'up tech tools,

Just wondering if theres any way to set the vci-100 hamster style or if there some kinda hamster switch setting within Traktor Pro? I did just try unscrewin the fader and flippin it round but theres a cable harness that gets in the way

I dont believe there is a hamster switch in traktor pro, i cant find one, but I just thought i'd ask. Also how many of you guys are using a vci-100 for scratchin? and have you guys got any tips on how best to set-up the vci-100 or scratchin, or isnt there much you can do to spec it up for scratchin?

What mapping are you using? Like I said for some reason it didn't work with the latest DJTT mapping, but when I created a new midi assignment for the cross fader it did work. Maybe someone will pop in with a why that is.

Open preferences
go to controller manager
find the xfader control (hint you can sort by name by clicking the top of a column)
check invert

As above this may me dependent on what mapping your using. If it doesn't work like that you could:

Open preferences
go to controller manager
delete your current xfader setting (write down all the settings so you can restore them if necessary)
click add in
click learn
move the fader (you should see the midi notes pop up in there)
check invert

I'm not responsible if something gets screwed up.

Most vestax mixers have a hamster switch build it, I thought the vci-100 would have one to, but I suppose it makes sense that that setting would be part of the softwear.

Thanks dude, now im off to pratice my bullet-proof hamster style

Keep me as far away from the VCI as possible and it will sound that much better. I AM NOT a scratch DJ. Hell, I had to google hamster switch!!

I'm a sucker for a challenge.

I tried it with the DJTT mapping and it didn't work. If I started a new mapping and did an add in and selected the x-fader, then checked invert it worked. So I guess what I'm trying to say is your mileage may vary.

Find the x-fader in the midi mapping and click invert.
