Keyboard for production with Ableton
Keyboard for production with Ableton Posted on: 09.07.2010 by Edris Acevedo I have just entered the world of production through Ableton. I have found using the computer keyboard a bit of a pain and was believeing about getting a midi keyboard. I need something that is small & compact as desk space is at a minimum. I have no experience in mapping therefore the keyboard would also need to be pretty much plug and play. I have been looking at the Korg Nano Key, Akai LPK25 & M-Audio Oxygen 25.Can anyone advise if I am looking at the correct type of keyboards and which one I should go for. thanks | |

Makkins Clifton 09.07.2010 | I can recommend Akai's MPK25 (http://www.akaipro.com/mpk25) if its just for playing some small chords. If you want 5 octaves go with the MPK61 (http://www.akaipro.com/mpk61). Besides that I really like M-Audio's Axiom line (http://de.m-audio.com/products/de_de/Axiom25.html). These got a great feeling. I also possess a Korg Kontrol 49 (http://www.korg.de/produkte/pc-tools...uktinfo-1.html) which does a good job control-wise, but the keys and overall build-quality never convinced me. The oxygen is cheap, but expect what you pay for. If it is Korg nanoKey or Akai LPK25, go with the latter as it got at least more realistic keys. |
