Corrin Penney 20.07.2010 | I was in your situation also not long back, so I went and got an audio 4, some TT's and upgraded to TP Scratch. I like the feel of vinyl, even though its only timecodes, and manual beatmatching is fun, if not a bit tricky on my rubbish TT's. But I still find that I enjoy playing on only a controller. Theres less to believe about and manage, especially if you're mixing fast (1-2 min per song). What I would say is, if your on a budget you might aswell save up and get some really good ones that'll last you. I got mine second hand & cheap. Whilst theyve been good for finding out if i like it, theyve got crap needles & carts that need replacing and this is another |

Irving Odabashian 20.07.2010 | I got turntables about a week ago, now I don't even use my MIDI controller for much more than a few effects. Whilst getting turntables may not get you higher quality gigs, it will definitely expand your knowledge and ability of DJing and if you learn to beat match using turntables you'll find beat matching on CDJ's and controllers a whole lot easier... If I were you I would definitely get some, turntables and traktor scratch pro is the best investment I made. |

Laurel Litchko 19.07.2010 | i was in the same position two months ago. i went ahead and got them but more because i like collecting vinyl (its hard to find old vinyl rips for rare disco songs lol). i dont believe it will help you get better gigs/play better shows. they come in handy if you plan on starting your own evening
and the club makes your bring your own gear
. they've also helped me become a more versatile dj. before i got them i had never touched cdjs (which is what everone uses where i live) but i feel fully confident on those as well as TT now. i dont rely too much on midi controllers dont become a victim of G.A.S. (gear acquirement syndrome)! other than that, i'm extremely happy i bought them! my favorite investments evar! i saved up for a while and got two 1210s and a xone 4d =D |
Ji Pursel 19.07.2010 | no, buy a midi fighter, two actually... learn how to beatmatch manual on the vci if you want a challenge i have a vci-100 and a4dj and everything works out great... the only real place i see next to go is production and something like ms.pinkys dvs |
