MIDI Cutout on VCI-300
Posted on: 22.07.2010 by Eartha Meschi
The last few gigs I've had trouble with my previously great VCI-300 (w/Traktor). Seemingly at random (although once it was with a pretty heavy bass drop), I lose all MIDI control, often accompanied with a quick burst of static or the lights blinking. The music keeps playing, which is the strange part, since I'd assume that any trouble would take out the internal sound card as well.

I've ordered the AC adapter for it, in hopes that it'll alleviate the problem, but definitely no guarantee there - has anyone experienced this before? Any ideas what may be causing it or solutions?

Thanks DJs

I've had similar problems using a pair of EKS XP5s on an unpowered hub, any interruption with the power supplied from the USB port would cause them to mess up, until they were unplugged and re-plugged in, using an AC Adaptor for the hub fixed the issue, and the devices now have a stable source of power (even if the laptop is not)
