This is a $1700 controller designed by Moldover.

this looks like a trainwreck of a controller to me.
some of you techy controller peeps may dig it.

I'd like to make my own but I try to avoid getting too lost in the tech stuff like midi programming. I am so guilty of that and not spending my time making music and DJ'ing

If you want a controller that suits your needs you can build one for cheeaper than that. He sells a controller taht suits his needs. There is no point in buying one if you can build something (for less money) to suit your needs. IMHO
Every DJ has his own workflow when dealin with music.
