Longest USB cable you've used (with no perceptible delays)

So now that I've finally gotten a VCI-100 and blinged it up somewhat, I'm believeing of attaching guardrails on the side like what's on the Audio 8 DJ, then a strap on it so that I can move out from the DJ console and prance a bit on stage or the dancefloor to get the crowd worked up even more. Looking at around 4 - 5 metres which is about the theoretical maximum for a USB cable without repeaters. Has anyone used one that's that long yet? The longest I've used is like 1 - 1.2 metres so I was wondering whether there're any delays perceived when going up to 5 metres.

I'm a bit hesitant about using extenders because I'm only looking at 5 metres max plus will the extenders cause any noticeable delays because the USB standard does say up to 5 metres.

Has anyone used extenders in their setups? To extend to say about 5 - 8 metres?

All other factors being equal, I'd prefer as short as possible too which is why I use the TechTools one for the link to the Audio 8 because I'd like to be able to move a little with the VCI-100.

Have no issues with a 2m cable. Depending on how we setup, i do like the tech tools cables tho

I was at a discount store that has some overstock Monster cables for that were 12 feet long for $5 so I bought one. I've used it before on my VCI-100 and didn't have any problems, but I'm not real sure I would recommend doing a whole bunch of data intensive stuff while it's connected to something that long. You could set it up with the long cable ready to go and swap the cables out when your want to do your routine.
