Another AA vms4 thread?
Another AA vms4 thread? Posted on: 16.02.2010 by Leann Zugay I'm just curious to if anyone has actually purchased or used one of these? Thursday is the day I switch from cdjs to digital and am between the vci100se and tehe 4 channel vms4. The vms4 in its current state has so many things I want to do in a custom mapping and was also wondering if anyone had purchased and mapped one of these, and could assist me in choosing/mapping | |
Demetrius Hoft 04.04.2010 | Hi, i'm new to this community
and equally anticipating the release on this beast, but the important things to me would be the sound and build quality. I was just about to order reloop's Digital Jockey 2 controller edition with NI's Audio Dj 2 as apposed to the Interface edition because the of the advice i was given on the sound quality. I'm glad i didn't as i just clocked this video on youtube for the vms4:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZx_Xx45NlQ The vms4 does look pretty good to me but i would be concerned how the souncard performs. The jogs seem to be very responsive but i believe they look a bit cheap compared to reloop's and vestax's offerings. I have found one uk retailer (link below)with an expected delivery for 19/04/10 at around |

Edgar Freeze 14.09.2010 | Here's the Pro Audio Star rundown on this product: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LufGPR8th4 And my blog post with a more in depth take: http://www.proaudiostar.com/american-audio-vms4-video I've been told the fader is going to be upgradable to eliminate the gap in the fader curve. Even with the small gap I was able to cut a little bit on this thing and it didn't feel all that terrible. I can't agree with Ean's review that it's too heavy to lug around but perhaps that comes from being a turntable guy as anything beats lugging those. I believe if people get behind this controller and sort out the Traktor mapping it could be pretty capable. Maybe a good look for VDJ users too since it's built around that software. I'm a Serato/turntable guy though so take that as you will! |
Augustina Kiebach 01.09.2010 | I played with one today..Didnt like the feel of the jog wheels... |

Elnora Wisegarver 24.02.2010 | [Quality will be the Issue. But im sure the DJTT community will quickly make a good decision on this product once they get there hands on one. I base all my decisions on gear from this site and the community
s hehe[/QUOTE] I own some aa gear and it is ok .So I too am waiting for the opinion here. When u guys review it then I will make up my mind . |
Mac Fly 23.02.2010 | You never know man, it seems like that they are going down the right route tho, I'm after hearing that they will be offering overlays, this is even before the product is released. I believe overlays and advanced mappings are something that every company should really consider now a-days. This, combined with the fact that its four decks and a low price....I hope its not too good to be true. Quality will be the Issue. But im sure the DJTT community will quickly make a good decision on this product once they get there hands on one. I base all my decisions on gear from this site and the community s hehe |

Audrey Pinda 22.02.2010 | I'm waiting on this before I make a purchase of anything myself. It has the potential to blow a lot of things out of the water in it's price bracket. I'm worried about the jog wheels to some extent. I do not plan on scratching myself, so it's not as big an issue, but I also want something that will work well and for a long time. I'm really interested to see how well the soundcard performs in comparison to other options. I see the 4 deck options on this as something no other controller in it's price range currently offers, and that's pretty amazing. I could see some guys going nuts for it. But then again, I want to make sure I'm purchasing something that will hold up to long term semi-hardcore use, and that's where I worry about AA products. It should be interesting to see how this plays out. I myself am waiting a couple months to hear back on how this compares to other controllers out there. |
Kandra Fagler 21.02.2010 | from the videos of the vms4 it seems like the jogwheels are terrible!! lets hope they fixed this issue on the final retail version |
Angelica Kargel 21.02.2010 | you are very correct on this one. AA hurry up! |
Latoria Kavulich 19.02.2010 | Unless you are super desperate to get a controller mate, i would really consider waiting till this gets released. I have already flicked off our dj-tech and hercules stuff to some mates waiting for this. Your $ tho |

Leann Zugay 18.02.2010 | That would be great, that's soon, I need a new controller and it's hard to be patient. Anyone else here planning on purchasing one of these? It'd be nice to have a little support group since there arent many resources out there |
Lacey Westergreen 18.02.2010 | again i can only speak for the european stores...i found two different release dates. febuary 26 and march 25. lets hope its the first one. |
Leann Zugay 17.02.2010 | Good to know, I might lean that way as well and try to be patient. Did they give you any word when it might be released in the US? probably not hah... |

Roselle Mcnaul 17.02.2010 | Aw I remember those stores back in the day, they aren't exactly accurate with their ordering process, I'd take what they say with a grain of salt in all honesty :/ |
Leann Zugay 17.02.2010 | There are 4 or 5 shops i've found in the US that don't mention pre ordering and list the product. http://www.sixstardj.com/amauvmtatopm.html http://www.djdepot.com/american-audi...er-p-1948.html http://store.phantomdynamics.com/amauvmvemist.html So is this out yet? They make it hard to say... |

|
Lacey Westergreen 17.02.2010 | that thing isnt even out yet afaik. most european stores list march 25 as the release date. so i guess you wont get any info yet. of course you can map it just like any other midi controller out there. so theoretically you could do your own vci100-se a-like mapping (well, except for the super-faders, that send out a different midi value at the end), but keep in mind that it's gonna take a lot of time and trial and error to get there. the big advantage of the vci100 is that it already has a huge community behind it. |
