Stefania Robusto 14.09.2010 | I got an HP from Costco for $400. It's a pavillion with 2.1ghz 3 gigs of ram and a 500 gig HD |
Matthew Urtel 13.09.2010 | Ive been using a Thinkpad R60 with 3gb ram for a long time. got it for $220. |
Angila Centofanti 13.09.2010 | Two questions. Reviews on the lenovo say the battery life is suspect. Also, if I run traktor scratch pro, with 2 time coded vinyls and an oxygen 8 and also use a nanopad will traktor still run with reletivly low latency when cue point juggling, using effects ect. Thanks again for all the advice. |
Ciara Cuttill 13.09.2010 | i believe any lenovo would be fine, yes do the memory upgrade ... heres also another quote from that article.
A much better recommendation would be a Core 2 Duo based Lenovo/IBM Thinkpad. These machines are ugly, but make FANTASTIC DJ/performance machines, and can be found at places like amazon and Tiger Direct for around $500 regularly. We bought 3 at work for use at trade shows, and within a few minutes, I was able to tweak each one of them to give me a solid double digit DPC latency that never spikes. They have rock solid USB ports, and can be upgraded easily. They're also built like a brick and will take a beating. We still have ours 2 years later and they still rock Traktor and Ableton Live.
|
Angila Centofanti 13.09.2010 | there are lots of lenovo's would it be a solid choice to get the cheapest one, then just upgrade to 4gb of ram? |

s.com/2010/08/0...80%93-laptops/ ... i would also say that lenovo is a good alternative for a cheap pc that can run traktor, their laptops have really good grounding which is obvious why it would be a good choice. |
