Can a VCI-100 upgraded with the 1.4 Firmware Kit use custom TT mappings?

Is it possible to install a 1.4 Firmware Kit into a VCI-100 to take advantage of TT's mapping updates?

I'm talking about the original VCI-100, not the SE.

Sorry if this question has been asked before. I searched, but didn't find anything that quite answered my question.

No, you can flash straight to 1.4.

Yes it will work fine, I didn't buy an SE from DJTT. I flashed mine to 1.3 when I got it and to 1.4 yesterday

So even though the firmware is coded for the SE and its extra LEDs, it will work without flaw with the original?
Or would it have some problems with just the LEDs? Or potentially problems affecting the overall functionality?

I don't see what not, the hardware (minus the LEDs) on the SE and normal VCIs are identical. If you flash the firmware and get an overlay, you essentially have an SE minus the black jogs and black dials.
