Some buttons on my VCI aren't working, need help :S

Hey guys, I'm having a problem with those tiny black buttons on the VCI-100 in the top left hand corner right under the red vestax logo. Like they only respond to being pushed sometimes and i have to push them like really hard, I'm not sure if it's able to be fixed or if I'd need knowledge of soldering but if anyone is able to shed some light on things I could do to fix them that would be great

can normal rubbing alcohol be used or will it wreck my board cause i believe rubbing alcohol is like 70% isopropyl and 30% water

yeah no, I've already tested if it's a software problem, the button doesn't send a signal when pressed and the light does not light up. It could be that something spilt on it, i dunno. Only one of those buttons works and when pressed it feels/physically responds exactly the same as the button that does work, maybe there is some connection underneath it that is not working properly as they still "click" when pressed but no signal is sent out.

sounds to me like a hardware problem too.. but reassure by checking in a midi monitor program what kind of messages the button send out

I used a 90% isopropyl 10% water mix. I believe you would be fine, but getting better stuff would only run you $3 at a drug store.

Has anything been spilled on the VCI? Might take it apart and clean with isopropyl alcohol.

nahh its definitely not a software problem, they were working fine and i haven't done anything different. It's just wear and tear that's caused the buttons to stop physically working but is there a way to fix broken buttons?

Not sure what the problem could be. Give us some computer specs and what other hardware your using. Are you using traktor? What mapping are you using?
