beginner dj having dillemma! i have about 900 to spend on a setup but idk which one.
its either i drop all my money into the s4 coming out or i buy a cheaper controller, like the numark total control,vci100se ,or hercules rmx , and i could have extra money to buy other things like speakers, headphones, lights, etc.
i want to play at house parties and such to meet more people. and once i get better i will upgrade to better gear

and to me it dont matter what the standard is, I just want to have fun with it and go to house parties and meet new people. but im planning to get the s4 anyways because if i get a vci, audio 2 and traktor pro software it is almost to the price of the s4. so mind as well get the s4. |

Gotta remember that S4 (If I'm believeing correctly) comes with a full copy of traktor and a soundcard. If you get a VCI 100 SE, audio 2 and traktor pro you are only a couple hundred shy of an S4 anyway.

Do you have software now? If not the S4 gets much closer in price to a VCI + software + soundcard. It's still a little more, but you should have enough to get some decent headphones. You'll have to save up a little for speakers, but you'll not have to sell your stuff and upgrade later on.
no i dont have the software right now was planning on buying it later. yeahh true im keeping my options open and i feel like at first it will be complicated and it will take time to get use too but i will get it eventually. the s4 is a great controller so i might get that now. |
