2 chanle mixer vs 4 with 2 tech 12s and oxygen 8
2 chanle mixer vs 4 with 2 tech 12s and oxygen 8 Posted on: 04.12.2010 by Angila Centofanti I posted about this a while ago but couldn't find it to check answers, couldnt evenfind it in my email, ne ways... First off is there a better controller to add two decks to my tech 1210s than the oxygen 8? Second, I'm planing on using my rane ttm56 with a kontrol x1... Would it be easier to mix all four channles with say a djm 600 or the new allen and heath mixer? I forget what the mapping for the oxygen 8 dose exactly, more specifically how you fade the volume up and down... Any ways id prefer to keep a 2 channle battle mixer with the x1... But im open to ideas. As far as the oxygen 8 it seems dope, I mainly want my second controller for laying down loops and juggling, maybe cool white noise builds ive seen tutorials on, and other effects stuff as well as mashing up with decks a and b. I'm bookmarking this thread so il definitely get any responses this time. Thank you in advance. | |

Ok, so: First: do you have a soundcard? -to mix 4 channels into an external mixer you need an Audio8DJ Short answer: If you like your X1, get another. |

Angila Centofanti 10.12.2010 | Thanks mrpopinjay... I believe I might go for a djm 800. I like the idea of using the x1 with a two channle battle mixer for juggling routines but your right might as well go for the four channle mixer. Asan -i know I need an audio dj 8, and yes I'm open to any midi controller. I'm trying to marry old school hip hop turntablist style juggling and scratching, minimal amounts, throughout my sets. As well as do electro style juggling with beat mashing and other effects.. looping chopping up samples. .. So oxygen 8 with a foot peddal looked fun, however I was confused on how mixing would all work with only two channles for fading volume... Also with eans mapping on oxygen 8 for juggling with the foot peddal, do those cue points have to be preset or can u set them live, on the go. Sorry for being uneducated and disorganized I dont mean to confuse anyone. Im just geting ready to put alot of money into my set up, traktor scratch pro an audio 8 and some krk 8s will be alot, I dont wana buy controllers and not be able to do what I envision during a live set. Novation dicers look fun too, the main idea is to be able to glitch the hell out of a loop or vocal sample and drop loops over loops to make mixes, transitions or dramatic builds, I dont even know what im really talking about, im a tech convert thats still in my bedroom scratching dstyles vinyl. I would use a vci or an s4 if I didnt love scratching 12" vinyl so much. |
Kiyoko Wellisch 08.12.2010 | Dude, any system where you're trying to run 4 decks through a 2 channel mixer will be a huge mess. Just buy a 4 channel mixer if that's what you're after. Even if you have a midi controller mapped to levels and EQs of decks C and D and then have A and C share a channel and B and D share one you'll end up not being able to fiddle with A or B without effecting C or D. |
