LED Ringed Encoder
LED Ringed Encoder Posted on: 14.03.2011 by Marlena Mouer So I am working on a few prototype LED encoders using both SMD leds and 2mm through hole leds. It is basically a 16bit led driver with 16 leds surrounding an encoder with a switch. It is hooked up to an arduino and utilizes 6 digital pins, V+, GND. You can chain multiple boards together so you dont have to use more pins. Currently I have a working prototype (video coming soon) and was wondering if people are interested in purchasing these if I get a batch made??[ame="http://vimeo.com/21180747"]http://vimeo.com/21179825[/ame] 2mm thru hole leds I made a face plate from some left over acrylic to show how it would look mounted (minus a knob). I believe this is a far better option than using the SMD leds 0805 SMD leds | |

Marlena Mouer 14.03.2011 | TLC5925http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/folder...t/tlc5925.html nice little 16bit chip with a resistor to set the LED current. I have a 2k smd which puts out around 10ma and you can add a 1K throughhole on top to bump up to a little over 20ma. Oh and please ignore the globs of solder as I cut the 2mm LED legs down and soldered them surface mount style to the pads intended for 0805 leds |
Louisa Oberc 14.03.2011 | I would be glad to test them for you... What chip are you using for the multiplexing? |
