2 Kontrol X1 vs 1 Kontrol X1 + Xone 2D

Hi, my devices now consists of a Macbook Pro, Native audio 8, 1 Kontrol X1, 2 Denon DNS 1000 and a mixer Beringher 700.

Only use traktor, and I would like to know your opinion about my next purchase:

I have the opportunity to acquire a new module for my set, and I am torn between another X1 and one 2D Xone, especially considering that the cost of the Xone 2D is 65 dollars more than the cost of the X1.

Everywhere I read, say it is better to have two X1, but I really do not know if I should miss the opportunity to get a reasonable price for a Xone 2D and join the set that I have.

If however you plan on using another software say Ableton live, you could go for the xone 2d because it has a wider variety of controls (i.e.: faders, knobs, push buttons etc...)

just my 2cents ^^ goodluck!

If your using a midi hybrid with the timecodes you pretty much just need play/stop +pitch controls that your comfortable with I believe.

OP, are you using 4 decks?
yes, I use 4 decks. Just play at home do not move gear . I just want a new controller (xone 2D / Kontrol X1)

A few questions- Why do you want the 2D if you already have an audio 8 dj? Why not get a 1D and save a load of money?

The 2D is heavy and bulky, you sure you want to carry that about?

Do you even need to upgrade? You don't seem to know why exactly you want a new controller. Decide what you want to do with it and then pick the best one for the job.
I want to control traktor and have alternatives to use in other forms

From my experience with TP2, I'd go with the 2D. I'm using two X1s to control Traktor at the moment, but find them lacking when using 2 Decks plus 2 Sample-Decks. 4 Decks is great, but you don't have any controls for the loop-recorder.
NI does make a custom mapping, but as I am using an A/C B/D-Layout for my X1s I will have to rebuild ALL the mappings. Why not then go the direct route and build a good mapping for yourself- alas the 2D with faders and stuff becomes much more interesting.

Yeah to be honest I don't see any point in adding a controller to that setup. Upgrading the mixer or the CDJs seems wiser to me.

If you got another X1 you could stop using the timecodes and just use the mixer and both the X1s.

That would reduce what you are carrying.

I believe your setup already covers the form of control that you can have.

Save your money and go purchase some fresh new tracks I'd say

Well yes but that's very vague. In order to know what's best you need to decide what it needs to be able to do.

A jumbo jet is an excellent way of crossing continents but I believe I'd rather take my bike to the shops.
