Ok Moroski 01.06.2011 | Soundcard plus mixer is more flexible than an integrated soundcard - lets you gig out without dragging your mixer if you're using DVS. I'm also a fan of using a mixer and discrete controllers vs. an all-in-one like the s4 for portability/modularity. Also lets you use the club's mixer. I do miss jogwheels for manual beatmatching... granted that's why I'm getting a TT now. |

Soo Lui 31.05.2011 | Hopefully it'll suit me down to the ground too! This community is fantastic, if i want to improve my production and my dj'ing skills this is a place where i should look to get insite from others and showcase my material, no better place on the web for this stuff! PLUS it was my fault for been a c**t, and i really want a midi fighter soon so i dont want Ean and the DJTT gods been mad at me for causing shit on there community ! |
Tatum Ansaldo 31.05.2011 | DN-X1600 + 2X1s + Maschine is, without doubt, a BEASTLY setup. And as a side note, well done for apologising. A lot of people would have just said fuck you and gone somewhere else. Hopefully now you'll get a chance to experience how helpful this community can be! |
Soo Lui 31.05.2011 | The xone 42 is cheaper quite significantly really but the denon has a build in soundcard! so i thought it'd save me on getting a new NI soundcard, i've not checked out the Akai but maschine will double as a drum machine for my production set up too, and i REALLY like the orange pads... ahaha! I really like the idea of having 2 X1's because since i've had just one of them its made my life a WHOLE lot easier i love how they interact with traktor! sadly the S4 is still in the back of my mind though... |
Dorcas Bassignani 31.05.2011 | isn't the xone42 cheaper? or does the denon have a soundcard built in? i lose track sometimes... that is a setup that will offer more control (almost spelled that with a K), there are cheaper alternatives to the maschine - apc40 as an example, more knobs/faders and buttons.. but then that would render 2 x1s pointless |
Soo Lui 31.05.2011 | Thats true, and yeah my bad. (its impossible to come across right over the internet) I've changed my mind again anyway, now i'm believeing 2 X1's, Denon DN-X1600 mixer and maschine. My apologizes for real this time i wasn't have the best day yesterday, i was lashing out at everything, so yeah sorry Brad for real this time! |

Audrey Pinda 30.05.2011 | Man, you guys need some candy and unicorns in this thread. But aside, I've gone through the woes of wanting one thing, then another, then another time and time again. Just pull the trigger on what you believe is best, and see how you like it. If you don't, you can always resell and reinvest, as long as you get quality gear . |
Soo Lui 30.05.2011 | Right, nothing else to add? No, 'thats a mistake you should go with this or this, or how about try this mixer instead?' If not then thank you for your input. |
Dorcas Bassignani 30.05.2011 | What is there to add? main pro of s4 is the mirrored layout and high res jog wheels. But you shot them down in your list. |
Soo Lui 30.05.2011 | The people on this community
have just slumped for me in the last 5 minutes, i thought it was a helpful community... you're right i may have listed the main pros and cons for what i want, but that doesn't mean thats it... you obviously had others to share, but decided not to? Yeah it was a 'half apologie' but thats only because what i said wasn't wrong... Can anyone move back on topic and give me some helpful advice or not? |

Tatum Ansaldo 30.05.2011 | Personal insults are uncalled for in any situation on this community . And half apologies are also lame. |
Soo Lui 30.05.2011 | You're quite correct I shouldn't have responded in such a way, and i should have probably made it more clear in my original post (by referring to it) i'd like to know about peoples personal experiences with both of these sets of gear
and if they'd prefer anything from the former or latter? My apologies, but I still believe the way he responded was quite lame. |

Could you tell me some of theses pros and cons please? |
Leeanna Ayla 30.05.2011 | An X1 compliments an S4 very well!! |
Dorcas Bassignani 30.05.2011 | depends on how you wanna work, that set-up has it's pros/cons, but they are slightly different to the S4 pros/cons |
