Yo. Does anyone have a Nocturn? I was wondering if anyone knows if you can set the encoders to actually behave like like endless encoders (in either mode) or do they always behave like pots?

Cheers everyone.

you still have to map the normal way in traktor

That was using Increment/Decrement

I havent used my nocturn much for traktor because I found it to be too "fiddly"
In the auto map software you san set each encocer to Normal,Inverted and Increment/Decrement.
Did a quick test and with this setting you can scroll through the traktor browser perfectly.
Does this help at all?I dont realllike encoders so havent really bothered using it for traktor, just use it with my DAW

So basically no, you're always limited to (highly configurable) pots with no option to turn them into encoders. Ah well, still a really cool controller.

Thanks for the info dude.

you can set them to behave how you want, for example :

set them to behave like normal knobs, that is, 0-127, with the led ring starting at 0 at the bottom.
set them to knobs 0-127, with the led ring with 0 at top center (eq style)
set them to increment decrement ( encoders style )
reverse them in normal knob mode
change the number of steps in the normal knob mode ( that means you can either go for, turn them a bit, they go full 0-127 very fast, or very slow and you have to give them 3,4,19 turns to get to 127)
you can assign one knob (or the crossfader) per midi channel to be the pitch bend, you can map all the knobs to the same cc, with different settings.
your buttons can be momentary, toggle, or another state that i dont remember right now

and

you can send traktor output midi to the led rings and display mixer level, phase, anything.
But, and this is a biggie, when automap receive incoming midi, ie, the volume level for example, it wont be smart enough to just display them, it will treat the incoming messages for the leds as if you were actually moving the knobs, so that means that you cannot have a send (from traktor-->automap) midi control and receive (automap-->traktor) midi control on the same knob, or else there will be conflicts.

And one more thing, despite having tried a lot of different settings, i still cannot control accurately stuff like beat jump, pitch bend, "scratch", and pretty much havent found any setting that gets the knobs in encoder mode in automap, and encoder settings in traktor to behave nicely for those applications.
