Small mod to keyboard stand.

Picked up the ProLine 403 (a 3 tier X style stand) from Guitar Center Sunday for $130. After getting it home I realized that the 2nd and 3rd tiers sat way to high when adjusted to a "standing up" level. I actually had to look up at the laptop.

So I cut the welds holding the toothed adjustment wheels off of the arms, moved them 5 inches, and re-attached with metal screws. I was going to add some JB Weld, but the screws were more than strong enough. I cut the arms down on the top tier, but left the arms on the second tier long incase I wanted to change it back.

I still have to touch up the paint, and make a better shelf for the bottom tier (as I just knocked one out with what I had around the house.

In all it is perfect for me after the changes. The top of the laptop is at my eye level, and the S4 is right at my waist.

Anyone interested in the details just pm me.

Thanks for the kudos guys! I was nervous hacking into it, but everything came out great. It's very sturdy. I can pound like mad and only a little jiggle occurs.

I was playing a lot of online poker for a few years and got wrist and arm fatigue bad untill I switched to the trackball. I love them! And, you only need space the size of the trackball.

Yes it is. It's also being redone with the new fluorescent green (which I wanted, but he didn't have yet).

Thanks Kooper!

Looking at how much stand for the money this thing is, compared to laptop stands, makes me wonder why good laptop stands priced so high.
