Should I upgrade to digital vinyl?
Should I upgrade to digital vinyl? Posted on: 22.06.2011 by Irina Feldstein I'm Currently using a Numark Omni Controller with Traktor Pro and I'm fairly new to the scene. I've been looking in to Traktor scratch and serato scratch and a few friends have recommended upgrading. Also if i did, could i use the omni control as a mixer?I was considering 1200s/1210s with maybe a pioneer djm 350 and traktor scratch pro 2. Would love some help with this because its a good bit of cash to spend. cheers. Links: http://www.decks.co.uk/products/nati..._Scratch_Duo_2 http://www.djstore.com/item/usbcontrollers/numomni.htm | |
Tatum Ansaldo 25.06.2011 | Their value is higher than that, but when it's local collection only the buyer base is much more limited than normal. I'd still be expecting a good pair of Techs to fetch |

Irina Feldstein 28.06.2011 | Can't wait for them to arrive! Anyone know if the traktor scratch packages come with enough cables? Asked NI and they said it came with 6 RCA, no more multicables? |

Tatum Ansaldo 28.06.2011 | if it's 2 channel you're after, I'd also really recommend the Ecler NUO 2.0 (differet from the 2) |
Irina Feldstein 28.06.2011 | The zone 22 looks good and it's not too expensive. I don't need too many features because I'll probably get an x1 for traktor |
Tatum Ansaldo 27.06.2011 | Don't go for the 600, you'd be better off with a Xone I reckon. I have an 800 and like it a lot, still have a 600 lying around but it's totally outstripped features wise by the 700 and 800. |
Irina Feldstein 27.06.2011 | I got a pair of 1200s for just over 300, in excellent condition. Was looking at the Allen and Heath xone range or maybe a djm 600/700, any thoughts or tips? |
Rolanda Clodfelder 27.06.2011 | Worth = What someone will pay I know plenty of ppl willing to pay 300euro each for Technics .. I bought one for 80 Euro a year or two ago, didn't use it, and sold it eventually for $120 in PWO, it had upgraded cables and Stanton 680 Cart/Stylus. They are pretty hard to knacker in fairness with the majority of issues being. a) Pitch Fader b) Target Light c) Tonearm top bearings (from being in a tight flightcase). d) Tonearm Clip e) RCA cables. None of the above should cost more that $20 to fix on their own or less if you are handy with a soldering iron. Hold off and you'll always find someone who needs or wants and willing to pay premium. |
Marva Cupid 27.06.2011 | I have just bought tsd and an audio 4 for $200 AUS dollars so it going cheap as now. |
Irina Feldstein 26.06.2011 | Thanks for that |

Irina Feldstein 26.06.2011 | I read somewhere that the 1210 mark 3 didnt have as a good a build quality as the mark 2, anyone know if this is true? |
Tatum Ansaldo 25.06.2011 | I got my techs and my DJM-800 on local collection for naaaiiiice prices. |

Nelle Potrzebowski 25.06.2011 | Jeeesus! I knew their value had dropped but didn't realise it had got that bad. I take it my vestax are now worthless |

Lilliana Perris 24.06.2011 | I bought the 4DJ on its own. Dunno if you can still do that. Surely you can... |
So Francis 23.06.2011 | The audio 2 has no inputs. You'd need an audio 4/6/8/10 |
Irina Feldstein 23.06.2011 | Thanks man, what soundcard should I get? It seems like you can only buy the software in packages including the soundcard. Does the audio 2 have enough inputs? |
Lilliana Perris 22.06.2011 | Yes you will be able to use it as a mixer. You will be mixing internally and the controller controls it. You will have to have a NI Soundcard that is Traktor Scratch compliant and have a version of Traktor Scratch. Then you input your TT's into the sound card and use your Timecode vinyls. BOOM! |
