Painting Oxygen 8
Posted on: 17.10.2009 by Versie Fearnow
Hey guys! I'm new to doing cosmetic modding, I'd like to paint my oxygen 8 case.

I was planning to use plastic specific spray paint, do i need primer?

Any other tips you have for me? Sand it down?

Either, a deep purple with lime green accents (the green of the new knobs in the DJTT store!), or all lime green, or deep purple with golden accents, im very indecisive about the whole thing haha

Sand
Primer
Sand
Primer
2 light coats of the color you want
clear coat.

I painted my bcr with just a plastic spray and it turned out ok looking but started chipping and would scratch really easy. I redid it the proper way and its been going strong for 3 monthes now not.
thanks for the tips! after the first time i sand and prime, how far do i sand it down?

obvious the grit needs to be higher (I'm partial to emery paper at the end myself)

But that sounds like a very very permanent and high quality result.

This implies a lot of work. That doesn't sound appealing

Oh, and fuck the MPK mini paint, I believe I'm gonna paint the case of my LP when it gets here! (if ever!!! woe is me waiting for the post!!!)

woah use a 600 grit sand paper then 800 then 1000 40 grit will f it to shits.
clean the whole thing first (alcohol or degreaser agent)

then sand 600 grit
prime it
sand 800
prime it
sand 1000
prime it then paint then clear coat and buff it with wax

Stumbled upon this, and now I'm sad too I guess I'll have to do what he was going to do with an MPK mini or something like that
