Recasing a Nocturn

Has anyone tried this?
It look like a great controller but it's quite ugly and looks like the footprint could be shrunk a fair bit.
I reckon I could do away with the crossfader and some of the buttons too...
Any tips or similar experiences appreciated!

PCBs look so cool. I wish it had a clear plastic case rather than that horrible cheap looking plastic thing.

I took mine apart and took some pictures a few weeks ago. Never got around to touching them up in Photoshop. :U

I can take more specific photos if you need 'em. (Also took apart my Launchpad, LPD8, and partially took apart my MixTrack and APC40.)

Ah that's what I though / feared!
Might just have to buy a paper bag to stick over it haha.

I do recon it's not the best looking controller out there, but as far as space efficiency it's quite good.
I imagine you haven't opened it already, because there isn't much you could shave out
Maybe 1 cm but that's it, you can always change the enclosure but not for something smaller.
You could always change the layout completely but that will be one hell of a project due to the way the thing is built/number of parts to buy to make it happen.
