Just bought a Launchpad
Just bought a Launchpad Posted on: 28.09.2011 by Merlyn Marcinkowski On eBay, I believe I got a good price, only one shop near me sells 'em (for an outrageous price..)Anyways, I'm really stoked! This will be my first Midi-anything anyone got any suggestions for books/videos related to the Launchpad? Also, I am planning on switching from my Serato DVS system to a Kontrol S4 - maybe upgrading to TSP2 down the road if i feel the need to have a TT there, have any of you used the Launchpad with Traktor? i guess the question is what can't you do with a launchpad... when you have so many buttons available. i bought midikatapult pretty much as soon as i got my launchpad - as i wanted to have multiple pages, easily specify the default colors of buttons and also have virtual faders (ala ableton). i pretty quickly found i couldn't do everything i really wanted so then developed my own midimasher app that sits between the launchpad and traktor+ableton. with a bit of simplish LUA coding you can use my midimasher to do pretty much anything you want. i have one function that turns any 4x4 grid into a midifighter in either normal or 4banks mode - which was cool for playing about with the midifighter tsi's. so more the question is what do you want to do with the launchpad... |

| May Artman 29.09.2011 | No, the S4 upgrade is fine. You can't upgrde the normal Traktor Pro software, however. As for the Launchpad, many people use them in many different ways. Have a look around youtube and you'll probably find something that suits your style. |
