Tightening Rotary Knobs?
Posted on: 22.10.2011 by Vanita Gatchell
I've got a wierd situation I'm in... I have an Allen&Heath Xone 92 Rotary mixer, one of the rotary channel faders was kinda bleeding so I put some deoxit on it... I figured I might as well put a little in all of them so I put some in all 4 channels.

Now the rotaries are really loose and I don't like the feel at all. Part of the whole reason of having a rotary mixer is for the slower feel. I should have thought of that before since I've used deoxit on my scratch mixers to loosen the faders and it worked great. I've tried to get the deoxit out as much as I could but no luck. Do any of you have any idea how I can get the rotaries to feel tighter again?

Been doing it for the last 2 days and it's going ok... its definitely tightening, but because it's getting dry it's not as smooth as it once was, I'll try for a few more days, but I see myself just winding up buying all new knobs and taking this as a lesson learned

thanks guys, I was worried about the alcohol, would it do any damage to any parts? for service center I've contacted allen & heath for the parts, but it'll be $140 for all 4 thanks again!

Wouldn't isopropyl alcohol clean that stuff right out?

Is there a service center in your neck of the woods?
