Clearing up my confusion... Posted on: 01.11.2011 by Moriah Mcelrath Looking into controllers but I like Serato more than Traktor. Does Serato require I use one of their specified controllers with Itch rather than the K2 or X1? On a side note does anyone have suggestions on what I should be buying? I've been using 2 turntables and a mixer for a long time, and the normal Serato upgrade. Don't really have alot of experience with the controller/midi/sync side of things. Do I just need 1 or 2 X1s, an Audio2/6 interface, and a laptop? | |

Leeanna Ayla 01.11.2011 | The biggest difference with Serato and Traktor with controllers is that Serato is much less customizable. You're pretty much limited to mapping the existing keyboard commands to another controller. In Traktor though the sky's the limit, everything you can imagine and some things that haven't been imagined yet can be midi mapped to something. With Itch you're limited to the few approved controllers and I'm not sure if you can add a controller in Itch. Here's a couple SSL videos using midi fighters and one with an X1 to give you an idea of what's possible. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmVwmDM39_s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1v0-y57iWbg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=we3WGZZDZEU I don't use SSL or Itch so if I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me. |
