My NS6 Broke....
Posted on: 01.11.2011 by Percy Keehan
Well, I was quite disappointed but its only been 3 weeks; so I don't believe I am going to get another- not too trustworthy in Numark anymore.. Anyway, so I got $850 back for it and I like making mash-ups and adding a bit of my own into them. But I also like to just be a but traditional with loops and playing the songs when I go live. So I was believeing that I should buy ableton and maybe build an APC80. I have a few questions though. Can the note mode on the APC20 play a synthesizer like how Madeon does in his Pop Culture video? And I know this sounds stupid, but could I ever- If i wanted to- put an innofader into the APC40?

But, anyway... The APC20 has note mode, so it can be used to launch clips as well as play notes for a VST or instrument. You can put an innofader into the APC40, I remember there's a thread about it here. I also remember you need a new box if you want to put one in the APC40. The crossfader has its own panel, so it's easily removable.
I have the APC80 and wanted to add the Innofader.

It is not possible at the moment....unless you mod the lot.

As mentioned, you can either lay it on its side...and get the Innobender (bent at a specific angle for the APC40) or stand it right up and you will need to make a new cover for the bottom.

I just got myself a XOne22 instead....and waiting for my Innofader Pro still.

Yes. Drop the VSTi on a MIDI track and arm it.

hey man,
i also want to buy a controller (an upgrade in my case) so i've been reading alot about several controllers. here are some controllers i could believe of that would fit your needs
1) NS7 - its a great controller: big, comfortable, and amazing motorized jog wheels which can perfectly fit your needs
2) DDJ-S1 - much like your old NS6 (R.I.P) , same serato , master out XLR , 2 microphone inputs and it even works without a computer (just like the ns6)

if u like Traktor than i would be believeing of Pioneer's DDJ-T1 which is amazing or Native Instrument's Kontrol S4 that i've also heard many good things on.

Hope I helped

ive heard worse about the traktor DDJ. worse than the regular one. if you still want a big heavy controller, and jogs are not an issue, look @ xone dx. but you might already know that.

its just. i dont even know. The hardware is built more to last than to perform. It got good build quality, but the actual way it worked... the jog wheels were probably the only thing that performed extremely well. Most of it was either average or a little less. OR at least thats what i thought. anyway, screw ableton- anyone used the DDJ-t1? i thought it was the closest to the ns6 for traktor
