Custom Livid Controller
Posted on: 29.11.2011 by Percy Keehan
Okay, so I plan on building a custom midi controller , and I am going to build it inside a flight case. That way its always portable, and I only need to make the top of the enclosure. I havent figured out all the details yet, but I have made a lifesize mockup of what it will look like when it is done. All the faders and buttons are real size, except the knobs. DJTT doesnt have any specs on how big the knobs are Anyway, I will only be able to pull this off with the new Livid firmware that is coming out in mid 2012, so if you follow this thread you are only gonna see some arcade buttons in bags and a flight case probably lol. But wait for it............ HERE IT IS!! (this isnt the lifesize version - but the lifesize version is just a bit over 2 feet wide and about 6 or 8 inches tall)

yea the only problem is... see all that empty space up there? I wanna put an innofader where to crossfader is (bottom right corner) and get rid of the two buttons on top of it, which are supposed to change it from hamster or normal. But if I threw in an innofader i could put an innojuster mounted in all that empty space and get rid of those two buttons. But I have no idea if the innofader would work. If it did, i wouldnt mind making a big case to fit it.

I use just one wave, usually a square wave or a sawtooth wave, looped in A and use the crossfader to make my own patterns. I use the pitch fader to change the tone of it. So the fader for pitch is completely necessary. However, this thing is used for my advanced mixing techniques as well

sorry, but that is the way it is. there a pitch bends and other pitch adjustments on the grid. its kind of like the midifighter deckalized mapping

Whoa man, move that pitch fader away from the channel faders.

Supposedly the innofader will work, using the right adapter board (check in the midifighter community for the post about innofader and midifighters).
But as long as you plan ahead you could just mount a normal fader, and when you have the funds/needs, just swap it in.

this looks dope as hell! one question though why did you put the eqs in a corner it seems like they would be a pretty far reach for quick cuts

Yeah I understand, your just gonna have to have a good long believe about it until your 100% happy with the layout and functions of your controller

It would take me forever to get the layout sorted

Good luck

because there is a modifier that turns them into the fader fx like the ones on the midifighter pro cuemaster, and it turns on idivdually for each deck. This is just a mockup - when i actually build it, imma obviously space them out a bit more.
