[Newbie] Gear question
Posted on: 01.02.2012 by Ghislaine Derick
Hello all,

Although I've been following DJTT community s for a couple of weeks now, this is my first post.
I want to learn DJing. I try to dig into the community s as hard as I can and I've been watching tutorial videos for a while now. But these are all useless without practice, so I decided to buy a controller to have the sense of it.
As you can imagine I will be a bedroom dj for starters and do this as a hobby.
I narrowed down my list to Numark Mixtrack Pro and Kontrol S2, obviously my budget is around 400-500

Thanks a lot.
S2 it is then.
I have a 5+1 gaming speaker system and I'm searching for decent headphones at the moment. They should be enough I believe.
Thanks again!

yeah the S2 is on sale so id say thats your ticket. I started out with a mixtrack, and it got me pretty used to digital dj'ing but I moved up to an S4 after 1 year and a half and it was insane. S2 all ze way

The S2 at the low price of 399? S2 hands down, get it while you can dude before the price goes to the roof again.

To start out the S2 would be perfect. You could use earbuds if you have them to get by till you can afford headphones, or get a cheap pair of headphones till you can afford better ones. You can also just use the headphones without speakers to learn alot. You just won't be able to cue a track while another is playing. If you have computer speakers or a home stereo, you can use those.

I'd go for the S2 without question. If you don't have speakers and headphones it'll be pretty useless though.
