Beats mixr Headphones

I know there is far better headphones out there for the price than beats but i just saw these yesterday and wanted to know if they were as good for djing as they claim to be.I know you can get some far better headphones for the price but was just interested to see if anyone had any pros or cons about them | |

Let's hope your second post is a bit more constructive or interesting. @graydodge14, Beats are not good for DJing they colour the sound too much. This has been discussed many many time on DJTT. Nobody ever recommend them. Search the community , Theres loads of threads on this subject. |

| Rolanda Clodfelder 05.02.2012 | I wrote on another post a lil back my thoughts on most headphones for DJ purposes.... 90% of anything thats loud will tick enough boxes for Live dj'ing, even a $20 set of phones would do the trick in a pinch, just don't expect them to last more than a few gigs. Once you can hear the track whatsoever you should be familiar enough with the tune to be able to mix it - IMHO durability and levels becomes the main selling point for live use. Color in the mix means sweet FA unless you continually mix within your headphones on stage, However the majority of DJ's I've ever seen use DJ monitors & one ear off for live mixing anyhow. However for studio or bedroom DJ use is where sound quality comes into play, ideally you should have a balance of both - why I would choose my MDR-V6's rather than beats - they may not be as loud (loud enough unless you are deaf!) but they are super durable, and don't color the sound for home listening - did I mention under $100. The beats and beats pro's actually look durable, plenty loud, but color the sound too much, if they made an uncolored headphone with the same build for 1/2 the price I'd certainly be interested. The studio's are IMHO though horrible ,horrible ,horrible headphones. I would not consider buying any headphone based on the specs or reviews or marketing blurb on the web or the box, and prefer to let my ears choose based on a few tracks I know well within 3 or 4 genres (and not all EDM). |

The Sennheiser HD25's are reviewed well,Smittten is "content" with his.The AIAIAI's TMA-1's supposedly good for bass. | Mona Hoppenjan 05.02.2012 | My friend here in my dorm has them and he enjoys them for what they do, aka play a lot of bass. I have the hd 25s and I love them. They are sturdy and comfortable. Clear sounding. So IMO HD 25s >> Beats |

| Leatrice Gaestel 05.02.2012 | Yeah guys i wasnt looking for recommendations or anything, i just wasnt sure if maybe they had made these with a flatter response or something compared to the pros or studios, which would make it a better djing headphone. But it seems like there basically a copy of the studios besides the 180 degree swivel. But yeah im sticking to my Pioneer hdj-2000 for now was just curious what the mixrs offered that was different than the other models. |
| Leatrice Gaestel 05.02.2012 | Yeah i wasnt planning on purchasing them, i just saw them yesterday and the box makes it sound like their the best dj headphones to be made in the past 10 years so i was just curious if anyone had actually trying djing with them. But i do agree their way overpriced so dont get me wrong on that. |

| Mimi Mahaffee 05.02.2012 | No "bitch audio" phones is even close worth the pricetag. Sadly you shouldnt even pay 50% of what they cost really. Tried several of them, can't advise you to purchase any of their headphones. Sony MDR700, Sennheiser HD25 (coming new version with mic for phone in april), pioneer, reloop, hell id say most brands out there are better to buy if your dropping 100 dollars+ |
