How many of you use Maschine in DJ sets? Ive recently bought a maschine to mess around with and im enjoying it pretty much.
Who of you use the maschine on regular basis in your livesets?
and is it just to load in some samples on dead moments or do you actually do anything else with it aswell, i have yet to find a youtube movie of a DJ(controllerist) who uses hes maschine more then just launching a sample once in a while.

For DJ use, that's pretty much all they are really good for to be honest. It's a bit of an overkill to have the full Maschine for a DJ set unless you're using Ableton, but in Ableton, I find there to be less available controls when compared to something like a APC40 or TouchAble's on the iPad. The Mikro Maschine is decent enough for using as a sample/clip launcher in DJ situations though and you still get the full Maschine software. Honestly though, if you just need something to launch clips/samples, might as well just get a Launchpad. |

Evelynn Pennycook 07.02.2012 | I've used it at home but never took it with me to a gig. I want to but haven't found good mapping that doesn't have bugs in it. I enjoy the midi fighter mappings that are available. Check out DJ endo's mapping and/or Shiftee's as well. |
