Using an analog crossfader as a midi fader
Using an analog crossfader as a midi fader Posted on: 11.02.2012 by Elizabeth Ambo I searched high and low on the internet for info on how to hook up a discontinued gemini cross fader to my Hale UMC32 for a DIY midi project im working on. Couldn't find info anywhere. So i took it apart and found out that the the fader obviously slides on two rails, each rail is its own fader so to speak. the trick is figuring out which 3 of the six pins are grouped together for each fader. The gemini crossfader I used had a side with 2 connections and a side with 4 connections. The side with two are the two grounds one for each fader. The middle two connections on the side with 4 are the +5v for each fader. the outside 2 are the two analog outputs. When looking straight at the 4 connections the left two from outside in are analog output, and +5v and the opposite side is ground follow the traces on the PCB and hook it up like a normal 3 connection fader!Hoped that helped anyone struggling to find info like I did! | |
