Thinking about picking up a non NI controller. I know Maschine supports other units but do the pads work? Has anyone ever tried a key registry hack to make Maschine software believe it's talking to a Maschine?

although the implication was there, I don't believe he said he did?

besides, I can see how it'd be useful to be able to use your legit copy of Maschine with other (more portable) controllers when you're travelling about etc.

If I had to guess, I would say this isn't going to work at all. I'm betting they're looking at the device driver and not just a registry value.
