Is this only for live use or can your mixes be recorded within the app?

OK. I believe the next step is to find the cheapest class compliant USB audio interface tested and approved with Traktor DJ.

Keep me posted.

Thanks,
I have it working this way right now with my A10, you just leave crossfader all the way over on deck A and turn on the cue for deck B. Then you connect the "main" output to channel 1 on your mixer, and the "monitor" output to channel 2. Then you can use your mixer's monitor and crossfader as usual, leaving TDJ's mixer settings alone.

It's basically the same as using an A2 with desktop Traktor and an external mixer, the outputs are called "main" and "monitor" but there's no reason you can't believe of them as "deck A" and "deck B".

OK, sweet. Ever since I got my iPad 2 years ago, I've been wanting Traktor on it so seeing this app is like a dream come true. I can't wait for the future updates that bring MIDI control and external mixing.

Theoretically yes but the master channel is way louder than the cue channel. I haven't tried it though as my A6 is not here.

I believe full on external mode will come in later version. There is a lot of demand for it.

If this app gets timecode support then I'm in. Gonna hold until then. Other products out there that do a similar job at the minute.

I assumed as much...I still have my Audio 8, although im guessing this wont work either? Its deffo a shame for the audio 2, that would of made for the ultimate portable setup

You would need iTunes on your laptop and the tracks must be on the same laptop to transfer to the iPad. Only then will metadata sync work.
Yep; great for people who only use their computer and ipad for traktor. Believe me, I wish that were me too; most of the other stuff I use computers for isn't nearly as fun But for folks like me it's an unfortunate limitation, and I'll probably just drool watching others play with it rather than purchase it myself. I suppose I could instead use this as a reason to grab an iPad mini, though that does bring the cost of entry up just a tad...

The Freeze feature is great, love it. For those who want this kind of functionality in Traktro Pro natively (without being tied to playing the iPad app) and have shelled out for the Lemur app...I made a Lemur template/mapping which emulates exactly what the "Freeze" feature does and a whole lot more...it's posted here:

Hope someone finds it helpful, cheers!

yeah id be much more interested in an external Ipad based traktor controller app.

Oh damn. Was somewhat excited about this until reading this. My ipad syncs to my desktop itunes, which has a lot of music that I don't use in traktor. I use traktor with my laptop exclusively, and I only store part of my music library there. I use the desktop and the ipad for lots of non-DJ-related work (and fun); all my contacts, documents, email, etc., hang out there, but I try to keep the laptop for mostly DJ stuff for various reasons. Would I have to change my workflow to make use of this app?

Well after playing about with Traktor DJ for about 3 hours, I believe I've found the replacement for my antiquated Pacemaker as my plane / stuck-in-a-field DJ'ing weapon of choice.

It has a few niggles form a personal point of view (only basic hotcues, everything has to be quantised and for some reason my tracks don't play from the first beat) but for a first release its damn near excellent. And IMO,

I'm a bit worried about the sync and what it actually syncs, it needs to have a checkbox like in traktor pro, being able to lock certain tags down in traktor pro so they're not over written etc.

I did the firmware update and rebooted everything before I connected. I'll try it again toevening with a powered hub, but it seems unnecessary since the Audio 10 itself is powered.

Anyone else gotten TDJ working successfully with an Audio 6 or 10?

I have an iPad 3 and the camera connection kit, but when I tried connecting my Audio 10 I got an alert message saying it was drawing to much power (even with the power supply plugged in). I hope there's a workaround, I'd love to use this with an external mixer.

Im using the opposite way. I have no intention of prepping on the iPad but I have DJ'd with it. Im using it at a small gig that I do, around 40 person room.

No the camera kit does not pass power.

This is a massive drawback to TDJ as it lasts about 3.5 hours on a new iPad without a power source.

There a couple things I'd love to see. 1) A traktor iOS soundcard, with DVS support. 2) Browser support or using the ipad as more of an additional tool for traktor. It'd be cool if you could display either the browser or remix deck cells this could act a possible bridge with Maschine as well. Either way this is a pretty impressive 1.0 spp

You then plug the USB of your NI soundcard into the USB port on that converter cable and plug the other end into your iPad. First you'd need to update the firmware of your soundcard, see here:

I will mainly be using it for track prep and the occasional "How does this song sound with this one" during prepping. Can't wait to get home toevening .
