Soundflower and Audio DJ 8?
Soundflower and Audio DJ 8? Posted on: 02.03.2012 by Allen Idland Hey guys,I was wondering if anyone can offer an alternative solution to my problem. My set up requires an audio interface for two reasons: sending 3 channels (sets of groups) from NI Maschine into 3 channels of Ableton, and also to connect the input/output of my korg fx pad to a return track in Ableton. Native Instrument's Audio DJ 8 has 4 L/R inputs and outputs. Normally, I would use the Audio DJ as the audio device for Maschine and as the audio device for Ableton as well, running a L/R cable out of channel A, B, and C of the Audio DJ to send those 3 sets of groups from Maschine to Ableton, and using the last output to go to speakers. However, I would like an additional output so that I can run audio into a video camera, or another mixer, etc. I could use a digital sound card, like Soundflower, as the audio device for Maschine and set Ableton's input device as Soundflower and the output device as the Audio DJ, but I need to have Ableton's input device set to the Audio DJ as well if I want to use the korg pad for send fx. I've asked my friend that's into computer science to look into re-programming Soundflower (it's open source software) to have one of it's input's directly feed audio from one of the Audio DJ's inputs. That way I can use Soundflower as the audio input device for Ableton, freeing up more outputs on the Audio DJ, and still make use of the korg pad. My friend hasn't been in touch and I'm looking for a quick fix. Can anyone believe of another program that will accomplish the same thing without reprogramming the source code? | |

Joella Roelfs 19.04.2012 | Please send me a copy. I want to control the volume of my reloop contour interface edition from lion but it uses 24-bit and sound flower uses 32-bit. See this for further information: http://support.reloopdj.com/index.ph....html#msg37313 |
Allen Idland 05.03.2012 | Well, I found a solution. My friend just reprogrammed Soundflower to function in 24 bit and everything works great! After a do a couple weeks worth of testing, my friend's gonna post the reinstall for a 24 bit Soundflower and I'll link it here if anyone's interested. |
