I'm looking to upgrade from my Vestax Typhoon that has served me well (but yet i'm sick off the EQ Faders) over the past year and although I have a good idea of what I want I'm going to ask YOU! for your opinions to lead me down the right path (hopefully).

I'm looking for a super portable controller that can take a lot of abuse and ideally has a built in soundcard (although I do have a NI Audio 2 DJ). I'm on a budget of a maximum of

I get what your saying about getting a VCI 300 and I have considered getting one but ideally I want something that works with Traktor primarily and from what I've heard it seems that the VCI 300 doesn't behave well with Traktor (shame)

I'm tempted to get my grubby little mitts on the Reloop Mixage IE and tart it up with some Chroma Caps. But does anyone know if Chroma Caps will fit it.....?

I am seriously considering getting the VCI 100 MKII as it boasts more features than the S2 such as filters and control over decks C & D and it works with Serato Intro. I've read that the jog wheels are not that great with Traktor but I've managed to get my Vestax Typhoon to work really well with Traktor and it's works petty much 'One to One' with Serato Intro. Has anyone got any experiences they would like to share about there VCI 100 MKII?

Having said the above I was looking at going down the modders route by getting a VCI 100 but after a lot of thought and consideration I just believe that the layout is not intuitively laid out. I understand the love for the VCI 100 but I believe I'm going to give it a miss.

If you like Serato Intro, you could consider switching to Itch altogether - a second hand VCI-300 + VFX might just be in your price range.

In Traktorland I'd be hard pressed to choose between the S2 and the VCI-100 SE (as long as it's 1.4). To me there's just something special about the VCI - but granted, the S2 is much easier since you can just use it out of the box.
