Circuit Diagrams & Replacement Parts
Circuit Diagrams & Replacement Parts Posted on: 18.06.2012 by Elfreda Calvetti I just bought a Numark mixtrack off eBay on the cheap with a broken "Control" pot and some missing knobs.IMG_2745.JPG Gonna be replacing the knobs with chroma caps, spraying the whole thing flat black, maybe change some LEDs out... But I'm wanting to order that control pot ASAP so once the thing gets here, I can just crack it open and make the repair. This is the part that I need here. They want $7 for it and another $7.5 to ship it...I know good and well I can get it from mouser for like $0.75 BUT I don't have much to go on spec-wise as far as sourcing the right part. Which brings me to the point of the post...is there somewhere out there with electrical diagrams or part lists or high res pics of the PCBs or something (for this or any other controllers)? I'm an electrical engineer by trade so having this type of resource could be dope for dreaming up and putting down mods...or just buying up broken shit off eBay on the cheap. There's a pretty good thread on modding the Mixtrack but all the pics are from Myspace like 2 years ago so they're mad dead. | |
Elfreda Calvetti 01.07.2012 | i've got the mixtrack in and it's a lot of fun paired up with my launchpad. i pulled that broken pot out but i cant seem to find out what it is. take a look... 2012-07-01_22-06-53_269.jpg2012-07-01_22-07-12_619.jpg2012-07-01_22-07-20_545.jpg it's alpha, d-shaft, has endless rotation, 4-leads (plus 2 ground), and the legs mount into the pcb. it doesn't click through its rotation like an encoder does it just spins and spins smoothly. any idea what it is, or what i could use in its place? |

Elfreda Calvetti 19.06.2012 | now you've gone and done it...guess toevening
i'm going to be tearing some toys apart and testing this out for myself! for real though that's awesome - thanks for the tip. |
Edwina Fagel 19.06.2012 | Well, if it says so. But basically, 10K resistance linear potentiometer should work in every midicontroller out there when in doubt. |

Elfreda Calvetti 19.06.2012 | Yea that's probably going to be what it comes down to and i'll just have to wait for it to get here before i can take a look. It would've been hella nice to get the mixtrack and the replacement pot in the mail on the same day though. |
Jack Narva 19.06.2012 | Honestly your best bet it to go ahead and "crack it open" and disassemble (if necessary) to where the pot is completely visible. In most cases a part will have some kind of identifying markings on it. Some will have manufacturer ID and base part ID, but they may also have the lot ID to identify when it was made. Through some Google searching of the markings with "control pot" or "variable resistor" you should get some info. Then you just need a micrometer (or anything to measure in mm) to get the correct sizing. Hope this helps. |
